Perhaps in your recovery journey, you have found that there is still an ache and a whole with something missing, but you’re not quite sure what it is. Often, childhood emotional neglect can be the cause where we did not get the affirmation, care, and support needed as a young child. Thus, it is difficult to identify the source of the ache along with identity tools to heal it. In this workshop, you will learn the symptoms of childhood emotional neglect, how it affects survivors as adults and practical tools to enact to help heal from the effects.
Shena Tubbs, M.MFT, LPC, CSAT-Candidate, will be presenting. Shena specializes in treating women with intimacy disorders, trauma, and sexually compulsive behaviors or addictions. She is also trained in some of the leading models for trauma and emotion regulation such as EMDR and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. When not seeing clients, Shena can be found hosting her podcast “Love Junkie” which focuses on healing and recovery from sexual addiction and codependency. She is also the founder of Black Girls Heal, an online community focused on offering tools for black women to heal from childhood trauma, unhealthy relationships, and low self-esteem.
The presentation is free to Club Members. For non-members, an entry fee of $30/person is required when paid at the door.
